Where Is Fahd Story Explained: Fahd's Fate and the 20-Year-Old Secret
What actually happened to Fahd in Where Is Fahd: who took him, how the hidden tapes reveal the 20-year-old secret, and how the ending at the well answers it.
Quick answer
Fahd is alive. The kidnapping was staged by Nasser — a childhood friend of Fahd's father Saad — and it was never really about the money: Nasser wanted to force Saad and Abdullah to confess what happened to his little brother Salem at the well 20 years ago. But the muscle Nasser borrowed from 'the Big Man' wanted the million riyals for itself and took Fahd behind Nasser's back. Salem — who survived the desert, lives as the masked 'Sultan' and is the whistle heard every night — hides Fahd in the well to protect him, and the story ends with Fahd rescued from that same well.
- The kidnappers demand one million riyals within two days and forbid the police — yet their midnight caller already knows Saad's name from 20 years ago and the family's secret plan to sell the house.
- The hidden tapes are Nasser's recordings: Salem's own whistle, kept 'so I never forget it,' plus a demand — bring the truth, not the money.
- Salem was found mute in the desert 20 years ago and named Sultan by an orphanage; he is the masked man who opened the farm gate, and he hid Fahd in the well.
- In the finale Nasser dies saving Fahd when the old rope snaps, the police arrest the Big Man, and a post-credits call teases Where Is Fahd Part Two.
Full spoilers ahead. Where Is Fahd tells its mystery across 12 parts, cutting between a present-day search and one winter night 20 years earlier. Here is what actually happened to Fahd, and how every clue loops back to the well.
The cast you need to know
The story deliberately hides people behind names: a grieving father turns out to be Saad, an old friend, and the masked figure of the night turns out to be family. Keep these seven straight and the plot reads cleanly — the character guide has fuller profiles.
Who's who in the story
Fahd
The eight-year-old who vanishes from the family courtyard after sunset. Finding him — and understanding why he was taken — is the whole game.
Saad (Abu Fahd)
Fahd's father. One of three inseparable childhood friends, and a man who has kept silent about the night Salem vanished for 20 years.
Nasser
The third friend. He returns after 20 years and stages the kidnapping to force Saad and Abdullah to tell the truth about his little brother.
Abdullah
Saad's oldest friend. A stranger named Nasser paid his son's surgery — in exchange for information about when Abu Fahd goes out and where Fahd goes.
Salem (Sultan)
Lost at the well 20 years ago. Found mute in the desert and renamed Sultan by an orphanage; he is the whistling masked man of the night.
Abu Suleiman
Has lit a fire at the farm every night for 20 years, 'because the lost walk toward the light.'
The Big Man
A man who lends money and buys people. Nasser borrowed men and a car from him — and the Big Man decided he wanted the million.
The night Fahd disappeared
At 9 PM the neighborhood is asleep except for one sound: Fahd's father crying at his door. He tells you what happened. After sunset, Fahd was playing with his red car in the courtyard; called in for dinner, he answered, 'just let me finish this lap.' Then the power went out, every dog barked at once — and then silence. His father ran after the kidnappers, fell, and saw only the dust of their car heading toward the desert.
Where Is Fahd opens at 9 PM, when the whole neighborhood is asleep except for one man crying at his door.
He asks you to search the courtyard, and the kidnappers left a trail: Fahd's sandal, dropped as he was dragged away, and the wide tire tracks of a big car aimed at the desert — with Fahd's second sandal waiting on the roadside. A witness, Abu Suleiman, had stopped the big black car an hour earlier: a little boy crying and pounding on the back window. He heard their leader give the destination: 'Get him to the old man's farm before dawn.'
At the farm, the masked men state their terms: Fahd is with them and fine 'for now'; Abu Fahd has two days to bring one million riyals or he will never see his son again; and no police. A private call lets the father hear Fahd's voice — 'Dad, I miss you' — before the deadline is repeated. Saad vows to sell everything he owns, but a house cannot raise a million riyals in two days. If you would rather experience the opening yourself, the Part 1 walkthrough follows it step by step.
The first crack: the caller who knows too much
With one day left, a midnight call turns a ransom case into something much older. The caller addresses Fahd's father as 'Saad' — and no one has called him that in 20 years except one person. He also knows the secret plan to sell the house, something only the search party and Abdullah the grocer had heard. Abdullah swears he told no one, so the group slips into his grocery through the back door. Inside they find a missing-person notice — Salem, age eight, missing 20 years — and a ledger. Two months earlier, an unknown man paid for Abdullah's son's surgery and asked for 'a small favor' in return: when does Abu Fahd go out, and where does Fahd go? The man gave his name as Nasser.
The secret from 20 years ago
Abu Suleiman has been waiting at his camp. He has lit a fire at the farm every night for 20 years, 'because the lost walk toward the light,' and he pushes Saad's memory loose: 'Close your eyes, Saad, and remember.'
The flashback shows three inseparable neighborhood boys — Saad, Abdullah and Nasser — on a winter night with Nasser's little brother Salem, a boy who can't sing, only whistle. Salem tagged along in the pickup toward the well; a dust storm rose; before dawn the truck was found empty, with only a small sandal beside the well. When the adults demanded answers, Saad and Abdullah swore they had been at home. Nasser alone told the truth — they were at the farm — and nobody believed him. The neighborhood searched for two days while Salem was out in the desert. He never came back to his father, and Saad and Abdullah stayed silent for 20 years.
What the hidden tapes reveal
The tapes hidden around the farm are Nasser's half of that silence. He copied his brother's whistle from Salem's old tape 'so I never forget it,' and left recordings telling Salem he never stopped looking for him. To Saad, his demand is not money at all: bring the truth, not the money. One warning repeats across the recordings: 'The Big Man said no one goes near the well.'
Behind the farm, in a mud house, the player finds bedding and food — and a radio whistling Salem's tune. Fahd had been held there only moments before. That is the connection the whole mystery turns on: the whistling on every tape is Salem's own tune, and the same whistle heard at night is Salem. If you are collecting them yourself, the hidden tapes locations guide lists where each one sits.
The whistle in the night: Salem is alive
At Abu Nasser's house — Nasser's father — the last piece locks in. Salem did not die at the well. On Friday morning, Bedouins found a lost, barefoot boy in the desert who could not speak, only whistle; unable to get a name out of him, the orphanage called him Sultan. Abu Nasser had seen him a week earlier, from afar: a masked man standing in the night, whistling the same whistle. The masked man who opened the farm gate for the group is Salem — Sultan — himself. And in the finale he explains what became of Fahd: 'I hid him here before they could find him.' He hid Fahd in the well to protect him.
Who really wanted the million: the Big Man
The final caller is not Nasser: 'Nasser wanted the truth, and I want the million.' Nasser confesses how it happened. Two months earlier he went to the Big Man for men, a car and the truth — the Big Man lends people money and buys them, and even Abdullah's son's surgery was his money. The deal was that Nasser would get the truth and the Big Man would get the million, but the Big Man took Fahd behind Nasser's back. The trail of his men leads to the old station on the north road, with Abu Suleiman, who knows the desert at night, guiding the way.
The ending at the well
The story closes where it truly began. At the well a sandstorm rises, just like that night, and Salem's whistle sounds through it. Sultan gives up his secret — Fahd is in the well, hidden to keep him safe. Nasser goes down on the old rope to bring the boy up — 'I'm the one who brought him here, and I'm the one who will get him out' — and hands Fahd to his father. Then the rope snaps, and Nasser falls to his death. The police swarm the site and arrest the Big Man.
The ending still keeps one promise: Salem, lost for 20 years, is found again — recognized by his whistle, the sound that opened the story. A week later the well is sealed with a memorial stone for Nasser, and Salem whistles at the dunes. Then comes the hook: after the credits, a call repeats 'Fahd is with us and he's fine for now,' and the ending cards tease Where Is Fahd Part Two — one even asks, 'Did Fahd really die?' Treat that as advertising for a continuation rather than a twist the current release resolves: on screen, the story you just played ends with Fahd rescued.

How the 12 parts frame it
The official description promises exactly what the story delivers: a 12-part adventure set in a Gulf neighborhood and the desert around it, where an eight-year-old boy vanishes one night and his father has only two days. 'Find the hidden tapes and uncover a 20-year-old secret,' it says, and 'every part brings you closer to the truth… and to the whistle in the night.' In play, that means Arabic voice acting, choices, cinematic scenes and sneaking past masked men in the dark, solo or with friends. If you are working through it now, the full walkthrough, the choices guide and the how-to-play basics keep you moving.
