Where Is Fahd Flashlight Guide: When You Get It and What the Golden Flashlight Does
How the flashlight works in Where Is Fahd: when it unlocks in Part 1, when to switch it on and off to stay hidden, and what the Golden Flashlight game pass gives you.
Quick answer
The flashlight is Where Is Fahd's handheld light. It is locked when the round starts and unlocks early in Part 1, when an objective tells you to take it from beside Abu Fahd's door. You use it to cross the story's dark sections and switch it off whenever the kidnappers' black car passes so you are not seen. The Golden Flashlight is an optional game pass that its own listing describes as stronger, further and wider than the normal one.
- Normal flashlight: picked up in the story minutes into Part 1, right after the power goes out.
- Main rule: on to explore dark areas, off when the black car is near — your light can give you away.
- Golden Flashlight: a game pass listed at 200, visible in your hand to other players, and yours forever in every round.

What the flashlight does
Where Is Fahd happens at night: the neighborhood, Abu Fahd's house and the desert stops are all dark, and the story expects you to carry a light through them. Objectives call the flashlight out by name — after the power cut you are told to take it, and at the old man's farm the game tells you to "turn on the flashlights and enter quietly."
The useful part is that it works as a real on/off switch, and the story keeps asking you to use it both ways:
- On to explore dark places: the unlit majlis in Abu Fahd's house, the old man's farm at night, and the story's other dark stretches.
- Off when the kidnappers' black car comes by — for example inside Abu Nasser's house, where the game shouts for the flashlights to be turned off, then lets you switch them back on once the car has passed.
Your light can be noticed by the people hunting you, which is exactly why the hiding scenes revolve around killing it. The toggle is also repeatable rather than a one-time prompt: if you flick it on by accident while hiding, you simply switch it off again and carry on.
The clip below picks the run up mid-search, with the handheld flashlight lighting a dark interior — the exact use described above.
When do you get the flashlight?
You start the round without it. In the hotbar the flashlight occupies slot 2, between the lantern in slot 1 — which is there from the very start — and the night-vision camera in slot 3, which starts locked just like the flashlight.
The unlock happens minutes into Part 1:
- Talk to Abu Fahd, who is crying at his front door, to hear what happened to his son.
- Search the yard for the three clues: Fahd's sandal, the drag marks by the red toy car and the wide tire prints outside the gate.
- When the power cuts out, the objective becomes "Take the flashlight from beside the house door" — grab it and slot 2 unlocks.
- The same sequence sends you into the dark majlis to fetch the pickup key from the table, which is your first job with the light on.
From there the flashlight stays in your kit for the night chapters — the drive into the desert, the farm visit and the later hiding stretches. The full opening is covered step by step in the Part 1 walkthrough.
Golden Flashlight vs. the normal flashlight
The Golden Flashlight is not hidden anywhere in the story — it is a game pass from the shop. Its own listing describes a golden flashlight that is "stronger, further and wider than the normal one," that your friends can see in your hand, and that is yours forever, in every round, listed at 200.
| Normal flashlight | Golden Flashlight | |
|---|---|---|
| How you get it | Story objective early in Part 1 | Game pass from the shop |
| Beam | The standard handheld light the story is built around | Listed as stronger, further and wider than the normal one |
| Keeping it | Picked up through the story objectives | Yours forever, in every round, per the listing |
| Cost | Part of the story | Listed at 200 |
So is it actually better? Going by the pass's own description, yes — it is the same tool with a stronger, longer-reaching, wider beam, plus the golden look other players can see in co-op. The normal flashlight, meanwhile, already covers everything the story asks of it, from the dark majlis to the black-car hides, so the pass is an upgrade for players who want that extra light and the visible golden item — not something the game expects from you to reach the ending.
